Bringing sexy back

Getting a sexy back is not just good for your general fitness, but it’s also great for your posture.

A good posture makes you walk tall, feel great and look amazing. By targeting your shoulder muscles, your hips and your upper and lower back, you’ll strengthen your back and look incredible from behind! 

Follow these simple workouts or a sculpted back:

1. Pull up

Using an assisted pull up machine, found in your local gym, stand nice and straight letting your body hang naturally when you let the bars take your weight. Pull up with your arms nice and even and your back nice and straight.

Alternatively you can do pull ups unassisted from a bar, but make sure it’s a nice safe one!

2. Push up

Down in a pushup position, holding a dumbbell in each hand, push your arms into a locked position with your toes still on the ground and keeping a nice straight back pull one arm up to your chest. Now alternate your arms.

 3. Pull down

The pull down machine at the gym is another great one for sexy back work-outs. Sitting nice and straight, pull the bar down in front of your chest with your arms shoulder-width apart, and repeat for 12 reps.

4. Superman

Lie flat on the floor with your arms straight out in front of you and your legs straight with pointed toes. At the same time, tighten your core muscles, lift your arms up above your head while you are still looking at the floor and raise your legs upwards at the same level as your arms – you’ll look a bit like superman - or woman - in mid flight. Hold for five seconds.

Each exercise should be repeated 12 times (reps) and then do three sets of each exercise. Try to do this every other day.
