Well being and healthy living trends for 2019

We’ve looked at what 2019 might have in store for the fitness movement. What about the other side of healthy living? We’ve seen a boom in macrobiotics and plant-based foods, and 2019 has some new trends in store.

Here’s some of what you can expect from healthy living trends this New Year:

Ayurveda healing

This ancient holistic health system, some 5,000 years old, Ayurveda healing is the belief that the mind and the body are inexplicability linked. Sanskrit for "knowledge of life," Ayurveda has spurred other trends including our obsession with turmeric and kitchari cleanses. 2018 saw Ayurveda healing really come into the public consciousness, and there’s no stopping it for 2019.

Healing the mind

Brain health is growing as a key area of concern, and our understanding of the mind will be a key trend for 2019, learning what external factors impact on mental health and how we can help.

From poor sleep, lack of exercise and an unhealthy diet – factoring what makes a difference to our mental health remains a priority.

Eco-keto eating

We’ve been all over ketogenic diets for 2018 and a light has been shone on its lack of eco-credentials. 2019 will see a focus on eco-eating with more plant-based research taking place.

Mind-boosting supplements

Supplements have been a staple for years when it comes to physical recovery, and now there are a raft of supplements which claim to clear “brain fog”, anxiety, and even depression.

2019 will continue to see the rise of memory and mind-improving supplements.
