It isn’t in a bottle and it isn’t something you have to pay a premium price for. Research shows that the best way to slow the ageing process is exercise. If you want to keep your body young, keep exercising. It’s as simple as that.

A successful fitness plan is based upon persistence and good a fitness programme involves several elements:

  • A healthier diet
  • Aerobic exercises
  • Muscle toning exercises

Even incorporating one of these elements into your life will make a different however, especially if you opt for aerobic exercise. By improving your heart and circulation, your body is more prepared to counter the effects of ageing. Older people tend to have higher blood pressure, lower maximum pumping capacity and stiffness to the blood vessels and exercise can help reverse and limit these conditions.

Just 15 minutes of aerobic exercise at least three times a week will result in lower blood viscosity which helps your circulation and helps blood flow more freely.  It helps your digestive system work more effectively and you’ll see your metabolic rate increase whilst your body fat will decrease, as well as your blood sugar and insulin levels.

Research by neurologists has also found that this level of exercise can also ward off depression and reduce chances of diseases such as dementia and related conditions. You should see your quality of life improve and even more than that you should live longer!

It doesn’t matter what age you are when you decide to start exercising, it will make a difference if you stick to it.
