The Best Pre And Post Workout Drink For Weight Loss

The Best Pre And Post Workout Drink For Weight Loss

In case you haven’t heard of it, Matcha green tea is taking the fitness world by storm.

Claims of fat burning power and an ability to give you a Zen-Like focus while you’re working out makes Matcha the must-have drink of 2017.

Here are the top 4 claims that make this tea a great pre and post workout drink:

1. Boosts Metabolism

One of most beneficial aspects of Matcha tea is that it boosts your metabolism. As we all know, a high metabolic rate is essential if you are looking to lose weight while maintaining energy levels.

Unlike many other drinks, this energy is not associated with any negative side effects such as an increased heart rate or high blood pressure.

Perfect for those want a metabolic boost without the nervous jitters.

2. Increases Fat Oxidation

If you are looking to melt away those love handles, this tea will not let you down. One study showed that Matcha helps to increase levels of fat oxidation by as much as 17 per cent.

To put this another way, it signals your body to burn excess fat to release energy during a hard-hitting workout session. When drunk on a regular basis, this will help those kilos disappear slowly - and for good.

3. Fortifies Endurance During Exercise

Whether you are an avid runner or you hope to participate in a gruelling aerobics session, you’ll be able to go further and faster than before as Matcha boosts your endurance.

This is largely due to the ability to access stores of fat when performing cardiovascular activities. In fact, some studies have shown that your endurance can be increased by as much as 30 per cent!

The ability to work out for longer means you consume more calories and ultimately achieve greater levels of fat loss.

4. Makes You Glow from the Inside

This tea has been a traditional drink of the Japanese for centuries. However, it was not until recently that its antioxidant-rich properties were discovered. Matcha is packed full of anti-oxidants known as catechins. These substances can help to protect your cells against damages caused by ageing, stress and the environment.

To put this power in perspective, one bowl of tea is said to contain up to 5 times as many antioxidants as the healthiest of foods or any other tea on the planet!

Not only will catechins help to prevent many types of illnesses, but they can provide you with a warm and youthful glow. Seems there is much more than meets the eye in terms of Matcha tea!

Ready to try the tea? Here's a gorgeous Matcha ginger tea recipe:

A splash of ginger will spice up the cuppa. You will need:

  • One Inch ginger root.
  • A single serving of Matcha powder.
  • Honey (optional).

Using a knife, carefully cut the ginger root width-wise into between five and ten slices. Thin slices will allow more of the flavour to penetrate the tea.

Boil the ginger combination for approximately ten minutes. The longer you boil the drink, the more of the ginger will penetrate.

Once it’s cooled for 10 min, add 1tsp Matcha Tea Powder and, if you would like to add a bit of sweetness, a spoonful of honey.

Drink ½ before your workout to boost fat-loss and promote a feeling of focus and energy. Drink ½ post-workout so that fat-loss continues and to feel full.
