Tasty High Protein Smoothies to keep Hunger at Bay

If you keep your protein levels high then you should experience fewer cravings and feel fuller for longer.

Rather than grabbing the nearest snack next time you’re a little peckish, consider making up one of these filling and tasty protein-packed smoothies.

Apple-Cinnamon Smoothie

With fresh and fragrant flavours this smoothie tastes great and the use of a little protein powder and flaxseed helps ensure you get that big protein hit.

Ingredients:

  • 220ml water (or coconut water)
  • 4-5 x raw almonds
  • 1 x medium-sized apple
  • 1 x teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 x teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 30-45g unsweetened protein powder of your choice

1 x tablespoon of ground flaxseed

Method

Combine all ingredients into a blender and pulse together for around 15 seconds. 

If drinking immediately, pop in a glass with ice cubes or store in the fridge to allow to chill and enjoy later

Banana Bread Smoothie

It tastes like it sounds and a combination of nuts, almond milk and protein powder ensures that it fills you up too.

Ingredients:

  • 140g low fat/fat-free cottage cheese
  • 120ml almond milk
  • 1 x banana
  • 30-45g protein powder of your choice (vanilla works well)
  • 2 x tablespoons of chopped walnuts
  • 1 x teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 x teaspoon of cinnamon

Method

Combine all the ingredients and blend together in a blender until smooth

Chocolate Cashew Smoothie

There’s no protein powder in this smoothie but there is plenty of protein thanks to bio yoghurt and cashew butter.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1 x tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • 1 x tablespoon of honey
  • 4 x tablespoons of cashew butter
  • 4 x strawberries
  • 100ml bio yoghurt
  • 100ml milk (your choice, almond milk works well)

Method

Just pop all the ingredients straight into a blender and pulse together until nice and smooth

These are just three ways of ensuring when you fancy a snack you’re enjoying something highly nutritious and full of healthy protein.
