Simple low sugar chocolate mousse

Everyone needs a chocolate fix once in a while, but it’s always good to have a recipe in your back pocket which is quick, easy and you know won’t break the calorie bank.

This chocolate mousse recipe actually goes towards your five a day. It's a winner all round as you get your chocolate fix without having to feeling guilty.

What you’ll need:

1 small ripe avocado

30g berries (soft berries like blackberries or raspberries are best)

1-2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder

What to do:

Simply cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

Mash the avocado with a fork and add the berries before mixing it all together until completely combined.

Stir in half the cocoa powder and add more if you want a richer flavour.

Simply pour the mixture into ramekins and chill in the fridge for an hour or.

When you’re ready to serve garnish with some berries.

If you want extra sweetness to your mousse you can add either agave syrup or honey during the mixing stage.
