Quite simply, it is water fortified with vitamins and other nutrients. Marketed as healthy alternatives to sugary soft drinks, vitamin waters have become extremely popular over the last few years. But usually vitamin-enhanced waters are just bottles full of sugar water with added vitamin supplements.
A resounding YES! Concocting your own vitamin water is easy, affordable and will definitely benefit your health with added vitamins and antioxidants. You will need:
Pineapple and Mint. Combine 2 litres of water with 1 cup of cubed pineapple and 12 fresh mint leaves. Benefits: Mint is great for aiding digestion and pineapple helps your body get rid of free radicals.
Ginger and Mango. Both these ingredients are great for boosting your metabolism. Ginger is also a powerful detoxer and pain reliever. A little goes a long way with ginger. Simply slice an inch of peeled ginger root and a cup of cubed mango to a pitcher of water.
I currently have a jug full of water in the fridge filled with chopped cucumber and mint leaves. Very much looking forward to going home to try out a glassful later. Thanks for the recipes.
I have never seen vitamin waters, but a bar I go to always put strawberries, cucumber, lemon and orange in to their jugs of water. It's delicious, and I guess it's a homemade vitamin water too,
excellent idea - looks like a home-made fruit squash with no waste, no excess bottles and the chance to know exactly what goes in it.
I've never bought into those prepackaged vitamin water products but these sound great as they're definitely 100% natural and it's not exactly hard work putting them together. I reckon there'll be a pitcher or two in my fridge by the end of the week, thanks!
