Healthy Recipes: Cholesterol-busting Breakfast Bowl

Lower your cholesterol levels one delicious bowl at a time, with this easy and tasty breakfast recipe. Packed with Low GI carbs to help you stay full all morning long, it's the perfect way to start your day.

Ingredients

  • 30g porridge oats

  • 150mls unsweetened Almond Milk

  • 1 medium sized banana

  • 10g flaked almonds (small handful)

  • 2g mixed seeds (Sprinkle)

  • Shavings of dark chocolate

Cooking Method

  1. Place oats in a pan, cover with almond milk

  2. Heat on a low lights for approximately 4-5minutes (depending what consistency you like your oats)

  3. Stir occasionally

  4. Whilst porridge is cooking chop the banana in half, mash one half and cut the other into slices.

  5. When oats are ready, turn off the heat and stir in the mashed banana.

  6. Place in a bowl, sprinkle with chopped banana, flaked almonds, mixed seeds and shavings of dark chocolate!
