Kick-start your metabolism with a good healthy breakfast. Not everyone feels like food first thing in the morning, so snack on something small like a banana or a bowl of natural yoghurt.
Both of these hydrators are great for the metabolism. Drinking plenty of water is a relatively easy way to speed up digestion and the aim is to drink eight glasses a day. When it comes to green tea, it’s naturally caffeine-free and counted as a superfood, it packs in the antioxidants as well as speeding up metabolism.
Who knew that eating could speed up the metabolism? Well if you choose your foods wisely, you can help your system burn calories. Try chillies, tuna and grapefruit (not necessarily at the same time!) Also remember that protein helps to boost the metabolism so try eggs at breakfast to double your metabolic efficiency.
You knew it was coming! Weights can help with speeding up your resting metabolic rate, so start lifting those dumbbells.
Thought you’d like this one…. A lack of sleep has been linked to slower metabolisms, so if you’re serious about boosting your calorie burning power, then ensure you get a good amount of shut eye every night. Eight hours is the optimal amount for adults, although many can get by on seven.
Yes Elizabeth I have tried matcha tea. Hated it. Much prefer green tea, and it's much cheaper too.
Here we go again - the old chestnut "drink 8 glasses of water a day". There is not a single shred of evidence for this. All so-called experts seem to spout off about it but it is simply NOT true! No study, no research, no review, no report, no investigation has shown it to be so!!
Re green tea - anyone tried matcha tea?? Meant to be v powerful and far more antioxidants than green tea.
I do none of these things - but I don't struggle with my weight at all. As long as you exercise enough, I don't think it makes any difference how much sleep/eating breakfast/green tea etc makes.
Yes I am liking the sleep one. Shame for me that I only tend to get 7 hours each night, but I feel okay on it.
