About this gym

Centrally situated in Castlefield, Manchester's Y Club is the largest and friendliest health club within the city centre. Just a short walk from Deansgate station and with it's own great value car park (70p for up to 4 hours) on site this gym is easily accessible to everyone. Here you will find a relaxed, non-intimidating environment, where you will fit in whether you're a rookie, a serious fitness enthusiast, or anything in between. The Y club offers a fully equipped gym featuring Precor and Matrix cardiovascular equipment along with a wide range of resistance and free weights. The cardiovascular area features a wide range of equipment including bikes, rowers, treadmills, cross trainers, steppers and elliptical trainers. Alongside the cardiovascular machines they have an extensive range of resistance equipment. For a more intense work-out why not try the separate free weights room which has a full range of benches, barbells and dumbbells. Weights start from 2.5kg up to 40kg dumbbells. There is also a stretch and abs area available for your pre and post workout stretches. In addition to the gym space you can take advantage of the 18m swimming pool, sauna and steam room available at the Y Club. This site also boasts a Sports Hall (for badminton, basketball and circuit training) and one of the biggest fitness studios in Manchester City Centre with a wooden sprung floor, high ceilings, natural lighting, and air conditioning. Classes held in the studio include spin, Zumba, Metafit, LBT, kettlebells, yoga and pilates as well as martial arts and combat classes. All classes are included in the price of your pass, no booking is required. Please ask a member of reception staff for Studio and Sport Hall timetables.
