About this gym

Brighton & Hove Amateur Boxing Club is a long-established community boxing gym with a proud heritage dating back to 1946. Based within the King Alfred complex, the club has built a strong reputation for developing both amateur and professional fighters, with legendary names such as Tyson Fury and Lennox Lewis having trained here. The gym offers a structured and performance-focused environment suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to competitive athletes. Members can take part in a range of programmes including fitness and technique sessions, amateur boxing pathways, youth development classes, and inclusive adaptive boxing. Training focuses on building technical skill, strength, endurance, and mental resilience, while also fostering confidence and discipline. What sets the club apart is its strong community ethos. As a registered charity, it aims to make boxing accessible to everyone regardless of age, experience, or ability, creating a supportive and motivating space where individuals can progress at their own pace while being part of a wider boxing family. Located at King’s Esplanade, Hove BN3 2WW, the venue sits within the King Alfred Leisure Complex along the seafront. It is easily accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving the area and Hove train station within a short distance.
