I think leggings and a dress are the absolute comfiest thing to wear everyday regardless of whether you're travelling or not! Plus, you can gran 5 minutes of ad hoc fitness and not have to get changed!

not sure 'five blocks' works in Mediterranean seaside villages, but 'no sea view' is a good one for picking a good restaurant. That and one full of the locals!
