In the UK, the average woman lives 4 years longer than their male counterparts¹.

This doesn’t happen by chance. Several physical and mental health conditions disproportionately impact men, who are more likely to experience poor health outcomes for a variety of conditions, such as heart disease, certain cancers, and type II diabetes.

A staggering 69% of men in the UK are overweight or obese¹ (compared to 58% of women), which is closely linked to many of these conditions.

Compound has recently introduced a new weight loss service, tailored specifically for men who refuse to settle for decline. They believe that a modern life surrounded by quick fixes, bad advice, and strained healthcare resources isn’t built for our wellbeing. Compound provides a proven treatment, backed by science, and built to fit into consumers’ lives.

Their ‘body transformation’ programme is centred on two main objectives: 1. losing weight and 2. gaining muscle.

Weight loss is partly supported by the increasingly popular GLP-1 medications, which mimic a natural hormone released after eating, helping people to feel fuller by regulating blood sugar and appetite. The effectiveness of these medications is proven2, but taken alone without being supplemented with physical activity can result in muscle loss3.

For that reason, Hussle has been selected by Compound to provide subsidised access to gyms, pools and spas for its members, enabling access to multiple health and wellbeing centres across the UK, with the highest degree of flexibility and affordability.

Cardiovascular exercise, of course, helps support the body in burning fat, while resistance training can support muscle growth, which actually increases the body’s energy expenditure – a valuable tool in any weight loss journey.

Compound’s focus on physical activity is also targeted at supporting men in feeling stronger and more confident in their body image. This partnership with Hussle helps equip members with exactly what they need to succeed – fantastic fitness venues with the very best strength and cardiovascular equipment, alongside pools, spas and recovery facilities for the ultimate wellness package.

Lawrence King, Director of Strategic Partnership at Hussle spoke in relation the new partnership:

“We are delighted to partner with Compound to support them in delivering their valuable proposition to their customers. We know that the Hussle offering is especially appealing to men, who want to access fantastic fitness facilities, with simplicity, flexibility and affordability. We’re here to make this easy for them.

The synergies that Hussle can deliver through its nationwide fitness network in collaboration with EGYM’s smart fitness technology puts us in a unique position to support the growing GLP-1 user community across the UK and abroad.”

Danial Zhang, General Manager at Compound also commented:

“I’m incredibly excited about what this new partnership with Hussle will bring for our members. Physical activity, and most critically, resistance-based training, is a critical tool to accompany any weight-loss programme, and we want to make it as easy as possible for the men who enrol on our programmes to access the facilities that they need.

As we look to offer the best possible experience to our members, the collaboration with Hussle will be a key element of both our current and future men’s wellbeing solutions.”

A growing number of organisations across the UK are making the decision to partner with Hussle to offer their employees and members access to flexible fitness. You can find out more, here.
